Hello Land dweller. You've lived your entire life beneath the hot sun, above the cool soil and rock. Villages and large towns filled with hundreds surround you and yet, you've only seen half of what the world offers. You sail the Turon from coast to coast and yet you could never imagine that right beneath the hull of your ship, beneath the frothy tides lies an entire civilization. This other world, the water world, is larger than any town or village and is populated with not hundreds. but thousand of Mer. Yes. Mer. That's what we like to be called, although pirates who have spotted us call us by other names. Nymph and Siren. We pay little attention to such vulgarity.

We are a peaceful race with cities as large as any above the sea. Etherea is where most of us call home. Enormous and bustling, this city is our haven from the cruel dangers of the Turon. No human has ever laid eyes upon it and we like it that way.

Land dwellers, you believe that you own the soil and the rock. That is fair enough. You build ships to travel atop the Turon, to feel the sinuous rise and fall of its tide, yet take heed. We own the Turon and we'll do everything in our power to protect it.
