Archery - Ayume` has mastered archery with such great speed and precision that she can kill up to 5 opponents in a fraction of a moment. Killing comes easily for her, as that is what she has been trained to do. She can hit a target up to one mile away, the arrows ranging from simple pointed shafts to energy with a vast variety of effects.

Flight - While she is a kind of angel that does not possess physical wings, the ability to fly is a given trait of her kind.

White Magic - Given the semblance of her upbringing, Ayume` has mastered a range of spells from the forbidden literature her mother stole. While this kith of magic is frowned upon by the angels due to its reputation for unpredictable, pernicious repercussion, Ayume` decidedly only uses her spells for honorable causes.

History: Ayume` is the youngest of three sisters. Her mother was not popular within the Angel Society, never without her sinful inclinations she wasn't always the best at hiding; her oldest sister was the same. Eventually her father left their mother, taking the middle sister with him to live on the other side of the city. No one could blame him, but such a situation was unheard of in the Angel Society and the unspeakables of it were staunchly condemned.

Ayume`, her mother, and eldest sister Ziarre lived alone. Unmonitered as they were, their mother became infatuated with the dark arts, emerging herself in spells and witchcraft which was illegal in the Angel Society as it was rarely not without its wicked means and/or results.

Throughout her days at the Academy, the bullying was brutal for the young Ayume` due not only to her mother's history, but her own. Ayume` was a notorious squabbler. She lived in fear of someone finding out about the dark arts, though she and Ziarre too became involved. Eventually all this came into the light, resulting in their banishment from the Society to the pits of the Makai - the rare and ultimate shame.

Ayume's exile was a controversial decision. Some deemed her too young to have been a conscious accomplice. But because of her own questionable nature, she too was sent away.

Their mother did not take their sentence kindly. Despite her inhumanity, she was no match for the wickedness of Demon World. They managed to find a place where the demons were mostly C class and, therefore, at least somewhat intelligent. There she got a job as a waitress and, at times, a prostitute, "renting out" Zierre as well in order to pay for protection from the creatures of the night. But it was her witchcraft which was truly what kept them alive...for a time.

Ayume` was fortunate enough to spend time with a Sensei and a handful of other students, learning basic skills and education. Though Ayume` was hardly accepted. No demon wanted an angel around. For years, Ayume's life was spent in ridicule and fear. Ridicule by her demon peers, fear for her family's safety. But the latter began to turn into fear for her own when her mother began losing her mind. Obsorbed and obsessed with the dark arts, their dark magic began to master her, rather than her master them. She became vicious and unpredictable, attacking her daughters at random and calling in monsters. Zierre, scarred from her own experiences and angry at their mom, was of no consolance. The girl finally went missing one night, leaving Ayume alone with their crazed mother at the age of 16. Ayume, frightened by the world outside their hut, but also frightened by the world within it, was completely alone. And completely torn between her still remaining love for her mother, and the fear and bitterness of what she had become.

While on a hunt with a fellow pupil, the two got into a squabble and Ayume` killed him, leaving the dojo and living somewhat on her own. She still kept close to her mother however, bringing her food from time to time, but the fallen angel didn't even recognize her daughter more often than not. And eventually, hurt, she made the decision to leave her entirely, hoping to find help.

Help she did, but it wasn't for her mother. One day, an angel came to her for the first time since their banishment with some interesting news. Ayume's records indicated she may be positive for the Red Gene and was welcomed back to the Angel Society if she could forgive them. The Red Gene only surfaced once every few hundred years and the eldest guardian would not survive long enough for them to find and train up the next one. Ayume`, despite their reluctancy, was needed.

She tested positive. Ayume` spent the next several decades training to be an elite war machine for Yemma's finest team. While she found it in her heart to forgive them for her exile, there were times when they looked at her...with that look, the one that said she couldn't be trusted, the one that said she was hardly worthy of the title of an angel at all. It made her ache inside at the fact they only rescued her to use her. The Guardian's leader understood this to an extent, taking the "youngster" under his wing. But even he, she could tell, had his doubts.

But regardless of their mistrust and crimes against her, Ayume's love for them was true. Over the years, her patient faithfulness became more and more undeniable. She dedicated her life to fulfilling a purpose, wishing only to belong somewhere and be loved. She finally did, somewhat.

One day she came to their overseer, requesting passage into the Makai alone. He looked at her strangely, but she said her purpose was to hunt down criminals to test her skills against stronger, unregulated opponents in a place that backup would not come, to conquer her fears. Her time spent in the Makai had been a nightmare, regardless of what her angel peers may fear. They were reluctant, but knew it was unfair to not allow her to go. She spent a few years there, assisting the three kings and purging their lands of the most potent outlaws and those who would oppose their rule. Spirit World sent a messenger bird to follow and ensure she wasn't betraying them. But Ayume` had been true to her word. And after a while, she returned to the Angel Society as a continued trainee and artist.

General Persona: Ayume` is a rare jewel. Socially, she is warm and respectful, though doesn't flatter and is somewhat impersonal. It is important to understand she has been trained for nearly a century to rank among the known world's most elite warriors, King Yemma's ultimate weapons - and last resort. She knows how the blood pumps through an immortals veins, she knows the pressure points, the lay of tendons, of muscle and organs, she knows how energy flows through a body and through the air and numerous techniques used and built upon throughout the centuries - Ayume can kill with her eyes closed. It is first nature.

She knows the world is wicked and ignorant, and she knows that, regardless of complexity or situation, it's the strongest who survive and make the rules in the end - not the goodest or the most virtuous. The world is merciless and indifferent. However, Ayume has risen above this. Instead of syncronizing as many do who understand, she is nurturing and kind. Ayume would never turn away someone who requested her help. She is true and virtuous, patient, and loyal to others even when they are not. This is a trait that can be seen throughout her history. Ayume has indeed had a hard, lonely life. But she regrets nothing, it has made her a strong person in the end.

She seems to know more about those around her than she possibly could given a bit of time, observant and intuitive. Though, unfortunately, she seems to only see the good in others, frequently overlooking their weak or dangerous qualities in her "the glass is half full" mentality. This can get her in trouble, as can her mercy for enemies and the suffering. There is always hope to Ayume`, regardless of the person or the circumstance.
