Playable Races

Humans - Humans are pretty familiar territory. They have no power abilities to speak of, unless you had one that was...I don't know...cursed perhaps? Creativity is the name of the game. But in generalization, humans are unable to sense demon activity and are much weaker than the other races. Their advantage is their intelligence and morality.

Psychics - Psychics are humans with spiritual awareness and, perhaps, even spirit energy. Spirit energy are humans' fighting power, an energy deriving from their life force. While it isn't as diverse as demon energy, there are far more higher classed Psychics than higher classed Demons (class as in power). It's easier to build upon, and often has deeper reserves to tap into later.

Demons - This is a very broad category. Demons can look like virtually anything, and have virtually any kind of ability. From plant and elemental manipulation, to summoning and shape shifting, to possession and mental abilities. If you're in a creative mood, this is likely the race for you.
However, demons are...well...demons. They are vicious, immoral, and live/come from a world saturated with senseless bloodshed and monstrocities. Sure, you can have a demon with good qualities, but you won't find much innocence or heroics here.


Angels - Angels are a FtH race and really not mentioned in the Yu Yu series. There are not many of them, and they don't readily leave the Angel Society in Spirit World - their beautiful city. They are demons' opposite. Placing a heavy emphasis on virtue and morality, Angels are trustworthy creatures who very rarely mean ill will. Many of them hardly know the meaning of evil.
Some have wings, some do not, but the advantage of an angel is they all have the ability to fly. Most of them do not have spirit energy at their disposal as Psychics do, but there are a few (they can manipulate this into mental abilities, mostly, but there are those with things like elemental control, etc, contact staff with any unmentioned ideas). Of these few, are even fewer born with the "red gene".
The Guardians are the only known Angels with the red gene. Every so many centuries one is born with incredible potential with Spirit Energy. While it is useless to them without thorough training, when brought up correctly, an Angel with the red gene is the most powerful creature known to existence.
The weaknesses associated with most Angels is that they cannot take much of a beating. Very fragile, and often naive.


Aliens - Aliens are also a new race to Yu Yu. Also a very diverse category, the sky's the limit for what you can create. They tend to be more powerful and very difficult to damage, however, their disadvantage is their lack of understanding of earthly customs, and, perhaps more pernicious, earthly disease. They know nothing of the fighting techniques developed by Earth's Human and Demon world, which makes them vulnerable. And many of them have extreme allergies and are very succeptable to sickness.
Aliens won't be on earth unless sent (with the possibility of sensible exception, always). They don't care about humans much, as they have their own problems, and the welbeing of their own world, to worry about. As the plot hasn't fully developed, it is preferred you contact staff prior to creating an alien.
