------------- A forked tongue wagged silently from the serpent's jaws, disappearing as quickly as it had appeared as it glided over the flooring of the Spirit Detective's family shrine. Slowly, ever so slowly, the uncertain creature moved, a large pair of mismatched eyes following it in the background. Hiroto, laying on the floor about a foot or less away, seemed utterly infatuated with the snake. It wasn't too uncommon, really. Hiroto became taken with quite a broad assortment of uninteresting, or frequently dangerous, things for the short amount of time it took for something bad to happen. But in all honesty, the tall demon child had probably never seen a snake in person before - if at all. His messy white coffiere spiked in all different directions on all sides but one - implying the kid had woken up not too long ago. And here it was well past noon.
He lifted his hand, moved it closer, then chickened out and pulled it back, closer, then back. He moved himself farther to the right with a few clumsy thumps as the snake continued to slither by him. It paused, lifting its head and tasting the air nervously. He finally lowered a finger to the snake's midsection, applying some pressure to the odd feeling scales.
Immediately the snake's tail wrapped around his arm.
"AAAHHHHHH!" Hiroto sprang to his feet, arm waving violently as he backpeddled across the shrine. The creature's long body went flying sideways toward the door.

Kana as usual had been up early. Her chores though they were not many were all done and she was taking her walk through the forest that basically engulfed the shrine in which she lived. She had seen her parents already once this morning and but now it was noon and they were seeing to the needs of people who came to the shrine or off getting food. Her teammates she had yet to see today and they lived with her for goodness sakes. She laughed to herself knowing full well that they all had uniquely interesting personalities. She walked back from the forest and to the doors of one of the rooms in the shrine and let out a scream as a snake came flying her way. She caught it but with a bit of apprehension. He curled up her arm and looked as though it was going to bit something or faint she wasn't exactly sure. She looked within the room and saw Hiroto in a state. She took a deep breath and looked at the snake giving it a bit of a soft pet to calm it down.
Snakes weren't exactly her favorite things but they were at least better then rabbits she'd have to say. She shook her head and looked at Hiroto. "You know you should be careful with creatures of the wild. They are just as afraid of you as you are of them. Well most of the time. This snake here isn't going to hurt you." After all it wasn't one of the poisonous ones. She gave a small smile to Hiroto. "Its not gonna hurt you." She walked over to him and held her hands over for him to pet the snake. The snake stayed curling around her hands and seemed rather content just to be there.
